Your Feet

Our feet are pretty amazing. They are able to bear the weight our human body and adapt to the ever changing surfaces with its strong and flexible structure. It is a complex design and described so eloquently by Leonardo da Vinci.

Did you know that the foot is made up of 26 bones, that's a quarter of the body's bones. 33 joints and more than 100 ligaments, tendons and muscles! So you can imagine as Podiatrists we need to know our anatomy pretty well if we want to determine the cause and extent of your foot problem.

It is not surprising due the nature and position of the feet that they are potentially exposed to different types infections and injuries such as;

  • fungal infections,

  • ingrown toe nails,

  • verrucae,

  • bunions,

  • plantar fasciitis,

  • neuromas

  • stress fractures.
